Important Announcement Concerning My Sales!

  • Nov. 17th, 2009 at 6:18 PM
duo
As of today, all sales are now going to be at my new LJ account, sweetabsinthe6. This new account will be for all current and future BPAL/TAL sales. I will periodically check this (dark_roses69) account, but I prefer all payment go through sweetabsinthe6. My new e-mail for questions, concerns, and payments is sweetabsinthe6{at}live.com. I still have my dark_roses69{at}hotmail.com account. In the coming weeks, I hope to improve the quality of the packaging as well as presentation. I want to announce that my main choice of frimps is going to remain the samples of Incense and/or Perfume from Mermade Magickal Arts. If you have any comments or suggestions on any of this, please let me know. I will continue to offer the same prices as I have been with this account (dark_roses69). The prices should remain the same, unless otherwise notified.

I would truly appreciate feedback at my BPAL_Feedback page. The information on the feedback page will be updated shortly. Your comments and feedback are essential to your orders. That's because the feedback gives you the ultimate power in how your orders are packaged and allows me to add more of the scents in which you are looking for, in other words your feedback = improved quality service and improved if not better scent selections. Right now, I am adding the scents that were given to me, but there's a lot of scents out there. The more feedback I receive, the better I can serve each of you. My ultimate goal is to make certain that you get the exact scents you want at the most reasonable price available. There is 'no middle person' involved. I obtain my scents from friends, and family who purchased the scents at full price direct from BPAL, but discovered they were allergic to the scents they ordered. They in turn gave them to me. I love BPAL to pieces, however we are in a recession and I want to help those who are addicted, same as me, get their 'fill'. This means I am offering primarily brand new, never before opened 5 ml bottles and imp ears. Feel free to send me your wishlists, or direct me to them, as I might be able to track the scents down for you.

Thank you for your cooperation. Season's Greetings,
Dark_Roses69/SweetAbsinthe6/Amy

How do you use the Internet to stay informed about the things that matter to you?

What is your biggest fear? Have you tried to overcome it?

Submitted By [info]teammccracken

Ok, I have a few fears, but my 2 biggest seem to be 'Cockroaches and other creepy insects' and 'Jaws in the swimming pool'. As far as insects go, I may not scream, but I'll probably move as quickly away from it as possible, and shudder. I only get scared of Jaws or something hurting me in the pool when it's dark and I can't see the whole pool. I may try and reiturate that my fear's rediculous, but it doesn't help much. I just try and go swimming when it's light out.

Again, I found this on ~Wings Unfurling~ LJ. I totally agree with this. People need to spread the word.

"A lot has been said about how to prevent rape.

Women should learn self-defense.
Women should lock themselves in their houses after dark.
Women shouldn't have long hair.
Women shouldn't wear short skirts.
Women shouldn't leave drinks unattended.
F**k, they shouldn't dare to get drunk at all.

Instead of that bulls**t, how about:

If a woman is drunk, don't rape her.
If a woman is walking alone at night, don't rape her.
If a woman is drugged and unconscious, don't rape her.
If a woman is wearing a short skirt, don't rape her.
If a woman is jogging in a park at 5AM, don't rape her.
If a woman looks like your ex-girlfriend you're still hung up on, don't rape her.
If a woman is asleep in her bed, don't rape her.
If a woman is asleep in your bed, don't rape her.
If a woman is doing her laundry, don't rape her.
If a woman is in a coma, don't rape her.
If a woman changes her mind in the middle of a particular activity, don't rape her.
If a woman has repeatedly refused a certain activity, don't rape her.
And most importantly, as obvious as it is: if a woman says "NO," don't rape her.
If a woman is not yet a woman, but a child, don't rape her.
If your girlfriend or wife is not in the mood, don't rape her.
If your step-daughter is watching TV, don't rape her.
If you break into a house and find a woman there, don't rape her.
If your friend thinks it's OK to rape someone, tell him it's not, and that he's not your friend.

If your "friend" tells you he raped someone, report him to the police.
If your frat brother or another guy at the party tells you, "there's an unconscious woman upstairs and it's your turn," don't rape her. Call the police and tell the guy he's a rapist.

Tell your sons, god-sons, nephews, grandsons, sons of friends, etc. it's not OK to rape someone.

Don't just tell your women friends how to be safe and avoid rape.
Don't imply that she could have avoided it if she'd only done/not done whatever.
Don't imply that it's in any way her fault.
Don't let silence imply agreement when someone tells you he "got some" with the drunk girl.
Don't perpetuate a culture that tells you that you have no control over or responsibility for your actions.
You can, too, help yourself.

If you agree, re-post it. It's that important."

This is interesting...

I found the following 'article' on ~Wing's Unfurling~ LJ's page. I thought it was interesting and poignant. Take a look and let me know what you think. Dark Roses

"Who Created Evil?

As you read this, I challenge you to really let its meaning sink in.
This eloquently answers one of the profound questions of life.

Did God Create Evil?

The university professor challenged his students with this question:

"Did God create everything that exists?"

A student bravely replied "Yes, he did!"

"God created everything?" the professor asked.

"Yes sir," the student replied.

The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created
evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works
define who we are, then God is evil."

The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students
that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.

Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question
professor?"

"Of course," replied the professor.

The student stood up and asked, "Professor, does cold exist?"

The professor replied "Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?"

The students snickered at the young man's question.

The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to
the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of
heat. Everybody or object is susceptible to study when it has or
transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body, or matter, have or
transmit energy. Absolute zero (- 460 degrees F) is the total absence
of heat. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how
we feel if we have no heat.

The student continued. "Professor, does darkness exist?"

The professor responded, "Of course it does."

The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir. Darkness does not
exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light, we can
study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's prism to break
white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each
color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into
a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a
certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this
correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when
there is no light present."

Finally the young man asked the professor. "Sir, does evil exist?"

Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course, as I have already
said. We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man's
inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence
everywhere in the world.
These manifestations are nothing else but evil."

To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it
does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is
just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the
absence of God.

God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man
does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that
comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no
light."

The professor sat down.

The young man's name --- Albert Einstein

May today there be peace within you. May you trust your God that you are
exactly where you are meant to be

South Florida Drivers

Ok, I may not drive every day, and I don't have the greatest of driving records, but please people, I know it's legal to make right turns at stop-lights. The only reason when it's illegal, is if there is a "No right turn on red light" sign, or right arrow light. Other than those 2 circumstances it's legal. I don't know how many times, I'm trying to get food home or to someone, and people are sitting in the right turn lane, not moving an inch, when there's nobody f***ing coming! Does it take the coming of Christ to get these people to move? What the hell is wrong with them?? Technically it's illegal to drive if you don't have a license, insurance, or can't understand American at all. Sorry everyone, but I had to get this out. It's been driving me nuts. I had to honk twice the other night to get this guy to turn right when there was very little traffic. I didn't scream, I didn't curse, and I didn't raise my finger as much as I wanted to.

Maybe some people have all day to sit in the right turn lane, but I certainly don't. Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crazy idiots. Good night for now. I'll be putting up a new Scent Sale later today.

Writer's Block: Would you want a do-over?

Given the choice, would you start this day over again? How about this month or this year?

View 1575 Answers

If I could go back in time and do a do-over, I would go back to 1990, before my family moved to Florida. I think I would protest more, and call my relatives, and reiterate that I want to stay with them, rather than moving to Florida. It's not that I don't like Florida, it's that I don't like the choices I've made, and where I've ended up. Maybe if I'd spent more time with my family in the Midwest, I would be, in my mind, better overall.

That's just me. I have regrets, as much as I shouldn't, and hopefully most people don't have as many as I do. Interesting question. Made me think. Good luck everyone.

Hey everyone! It's official! I now have my own CafePress website to go along with my Dark Roses. The URL is http://www.cafepress.com/Dark_Roses69/. So far I only have a few photos of my cat Dylan up, but I plan on putting up more, as I'm not sure everyone wants something with a picture of my cat on it. But hey he is a cutie, just so you know. Once I have the money, I'll definitely order something with him on it for myself.

Both of my sales for BPAL are still going on, but I believe there are only 5 to 7 of the 5ml bottles left. The sales pages are below this one obviously. 5ml bottles (June) and Imp Ears (May). Go on and look. School's going well, and you can spend a little money to make yourself appealing to the males. You know they always fall for a good scent. Later.

Hey everyone! I don't know about you, but a friend of mine, and myself, have not been able to access the main BPAL website for a little while. They must be having some technical problems or something. Anyway, there's good news. BPAL is on Amazon.com now! Holy Cow! I couldn't believe it when I saw it. But they have their own Amazon.com Shop.

Still have some 5ml and Imp Ears for sale. So if anyone's interested. I may try and sell a few at Amazon myself, I don't know for sure yet. Anyway, hope everyone had a great summer! School's back in session. Good evening and sweet dreams.

I just wanted to add a few links to my web presence here. Obviously this is my LiveJournal where I sell my BPAL stash, and hopefully will find a few other interesting things to add.

My amazon shop is located here! I tend to sell new and slightly used books, cd's, and dvd's. I normally try to price my items as low as possible, but I'm not the $0.01 type of person. But most of the items are in new or almost new shape.

I also have an ebay account here, but rarely use it due to the hike in fees. I have been selling items on Amazon.com for quite a while, and have sold steadily on Ebay a few years ago.

So, that's it for now. Anything else, and I'll update again soon. Have a good night everyone!

Something To Think About

  • Jul. 16th, 2009 at 12:58 AM
duo

Hi everyone. It's late, but I'm waiting for images to upload to my Kodak Gallery. I'll post a link there soon.

Anyway, the reason I decided to write this is because I got a book from a friend, and even though I posted it on Amazon, I decided to read some of it. The title is "Into the Den of Infidels". It's 8 stories from Muslims in Egypt, and their religious explorations. I know about Christianity. I do not know about Islam & Muslims, other than that they believe in God and Muhammed the Prophet. It's interesting to read about how certain things in their beliefs are similar, and yet some part of Islam states that Christians are Infidels. No matter that God told human's/prophet's to write the Old Testament, the New Testament, the Qu'ran, and other Holy Books, I truly believe that human culture, fears, and misunderstandings have tainted these books in some part, and that is where the 'Infidels' come into play. Now this is just my opinion. I am so not looking to start a fight or argument. But I do accept other's opinions.

I currently consider myself Spiritual. I do not know right now what path I plan on pursuing in the future. But I have to admit that this book is interesting. The by-line on the front is "Our Search for the Truth". If you are into either religion, this may help open your eyes a bit. Apparently some of the Islamic/Muslim rules/laws were started before the Qu'ran was even written. And I am actually learning some things about a whole other culture.

I hope that you have a good night's sleep, and enjoy your summer, whether you're working or on vacation or are just not currently working due to whatever reason.

Thanks for reading my thoughts. Good night all!

Concerning Traffic in South Florida

  • Jul. 10th, 2009 at 11:01 PM
duo
Hey everyone. I decided I needed to b*tch about this somewhere, so here's my beef. I live in South Florida. It rains a lot, and even without rain there are some crazy *ss drivers down here. Well, recently, like in the last month or so, I've noticed that only about 1/3 to 1/2 of the drivers turn their lights on when it's raining. Which is ILLEGAL! Whenever we drive and have to use our windshield wipers, we're supposed to put our lights on. The main reason for this seems to be, so it's easier to differentiate between cars and rain/fog/mist. If people are driving white/off-white/light grey/grey/silver/champagne or other lighter cars, if the rain is heavy enough they blend into the rain/mist.

I've seen it happen, and I cannot believe that more are not putting their lights on. It could help save lives. I'd rather not bump into or drive into someone's car because their lights aren't on. So if you live in South Florida or any other state that has this law, please, PLEASE, TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON WHEN IT'S RAINING! People not doing this reiterates how many either shouldn't be driving, don't know the law, or don't care. Anyway, this is my ranting for the day. Excuse my capping, but there is a reason behind it. My sales pages are below. Go take a peek. Hope you find something you like!

Good evening everyone. I'm going to watch the new Eureka episode I just taped. Bye!

My Wish List!

  • Jun. 13th, 2009 at 2:20 AM
duo
OK, I'm going to start my wish list. After looking at some people having sales, I'm getting a pretty good idea of what I'd like to try. Oh, and decants are definitely plausible.

Definitely: (whether as original perfume or decant)
1. Strawberry Moon 2009 (I missed the decanting circles by like a week)
2. Giant Vulva, preferably 2008 or 2009
3. White Chocolate and Sugared Violets (whatever's the most recent year)
4. Strawberry Heart
5. Gingerbread Poppet (2007, 2008)
6. June Gloom
7. Berry Moon 2009
8. Labores Solis
9. Plastic Pink Flamingo
10. Spinning Multicolored Metallic Pinwheel
11. Lawn Gnome
12. Bite Me
13. Boo
14. Creepy 2009
15. Lambs-Wool
16. Pomona
17. Samhain 2009
18. Suck It
19. Trick or Treat 2009
20. Pumpkin Patch I
21. Pumpkin Patch V
22. Stinky
23. Summer's Last Will & Testament
24. Under the Harvest Moon

Possibly:
1. Harvest Moon 2008
2. Earth Phoenix (2007, 2008)
3. Hope
4. Sugar Moon (2007, 2008, or 2009)

I'm not big on heavy floral scents. I have tried sprays, perfume oils, and perfumes before, and I truly prefer food/citrus/herbal scents, and musk as well. Unfortunately I'm allergic to at least 1, if not 2 different flowers, although I do enjoy nice rose scents. Thanks for your attention. Good night all.

PS. Just a quick comment. If you would like to purchase any BPAL from my sale, I would appreciate it if you would check back daily, or even every other day. Thank you.
